Magen Thurman | Biography

Magen Thurman is a song writer, solo artist, and worship leader for one of the 20 top churches in the US. She grew up singing with her mom as the daughter of a prominent Texas pastor while also performing regularly at Country Music Oprys. Her training years were spent under the instruction of Brian Schexnayder where she learned speech level (pop/belt) technique. Today, Magen lives in Leesburg, VA with her husband, Cory. She is on staff as both a Director of Worship and Worship Leader at McLean Bible Church in Vienna, VA. She is also a worship leader, team leader, ministry leader, and a conference worship leader for the D.C. Metro area.

She’s opened for notable artists such as John Mark McMillen, Amy Grant, Shane and Shane and Phil Wickham. She co-wrote a top 20 CCLITV song “Until That Day Comes” and continues to write, record and lead with People and Songs under the leadership of Jennie Lee Riddle. As a worship leader, Magen’s greatest desire is to equip the saints for ministry and to see the Lord’s people worship Him with a deep and genuine understanding of who He is, both corporately and individually.

"Magen Thurman is both a phenomenal singer and experienced leader of people. It's been an honor to lead worship alongside her at The Heights Baptist and see our congregation respond in such a powerful way. Magen truly lets the Lord speak through her voice and music."
“Magen’s unique ability to communicate the Word of God through her powerful voice is equally matched by her personal passion for the message and her professionalism. I have no doubt that Magen will continue to be a valuable and unstoppable force for the Kingdom of God."

Stunning voice aside, Magen is a solid woman of God who knows the Word. It is written on her heart. She has made a well worn path to the throne room, making it an easy joy to follow her in worship.
